Investigador en el área de la Inteligencia Artificial, especialmente en temas relacionados con sistemas de gestión de conocimiento y web semántica. Profesor Titular de los cursos de Inteligencia Artificial desde 2008. Ha dirigido más de 14 proyectos de graduación entre los que se encuentra el mejor trabajo de graduación en la Facultad de Ingeniería para el año 2008 en esa oportunidad recibió reconocimiento como asesor del trabajo: “Algoritmos Genéticos aplicados al proceso de asignación de recursos”.
Actualmente es Presidente de la Comisión de Información e Informática (2009 y 2010) del CONCYT, Presidente-fundador (2007-2011) de ONG fundaTICs y Profesor e Investigador de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (2005 a la fecha) y profesor de Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (2008). Conferencista en más de 40 presentaciones Nacional e Internacionalmente (Costa Rica, Brasil, España, Eslovenia, Honduras, México, etc). Invitado permanente a más de 30 programas de radio para la difusión de la Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Radio Radio Universidad, IGER y Radio Infinita(2008 y 2011).
